My first attempt at baking anything remotely important- my sister's wedding cake
A vanilla sponge filled with vanilla buttercream, covered with white chocolate ganache and wrapped in white chocolate!
When my sister told me I was going to be making her wedding cake I was terrified, it's such an important job, I had no experience other than baking for myself and I had absolutely no clue how I would go about it! The worst part is that it had to travel so far to get to the actual wedding destination so I only had so much time to complete each stage because obviously chocolate is not the easiest thing to travel in the back of my mum's car! However the project all came together in the end and I was SO proud when my sister and her husband cut the cake, obviously compliments from everyone at the wedding were lovely too!
I really want to attempt a cake like this again but with more time and less traveling to do, the design is so simple and beautiful, there's a lot I want to do with it! As a first attempt at baking for others, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out though!
